The Power of Small Beginnings
The Power of Small Beginnings
Here is a simple but profound truth:
Whatever you start doing, you are more likely to continue doing; and what you continue to do, will lead you, inexorably, to a final destination, whether for good or ill.
Therefore, be extremely careful what you begin; for once you have started, it is often difficult to stop.
- Once you start eating chocolate, it is difficult to stop.
- Once you have started the weight moving, it is difficult to stop.
- Once start a bad habit, it is difficult to stop.
Starting is like opening a gate and following a path.
Every path leads somewhere;
- Some paths lead to heavenly places
- Other paths lead to hell-like places
Therefore, before you open the door to any course of action, stop and carefully consider, what is the final destination that lies at the end of that particular path?
Beginnings are small.
Beginnings are small and seemingly insignificant.
- But from a seemingly insignificant crack in the wall, the mighty dam fails.
- From a small and seemingly insignificant acorn, a mighty oak tree springs.
- From a seemingly small and insignificant bad habit, such as constant criticism, a marriage fails.
The point is this: Always be conscious of small beginnings.
Eating a little too much, will lead you to obesity.
Doing a little less than your best, will lead you to oblivion.
On the other hand:
Putting everything back in its proper place, will bring order to your household.
Saying a few, well chosen kind words, will lead you to loving relationships.
Small beginnings count.
