Give Yourself Positive Feedback

Give Yourself Positive Feedback

Give Yourself Positive Feedback

“When you praise your own effort in real time, you train your brain to repeat that good work.” – Chris Farmer, Lead Trainer, Corporate Coach Group

It is important that you give yourself Positive feedback.

Positive feedback is self-praise.

Giving yourself positive feedback is the art of recognising when you have done a good job, and remembering to praise yourself.

Whenever you have done anything well, it is important to give yourself some praise, because everyone needs to feel good about themselves.

Everyone needs to develop a healthy self-respect and a good self-image. The self-image is the sum of all the thoughts feelings and beliefs you have about "who you really are".

A good self-image is important because a good self-image is the basis of a healthy personality.

There are people who suffer, because they have a poor self-image; meaning they don't like themselves very much. They don't regard themselves as being "good enough". They feel they are in some way deficient and inadequate.

This low level of self-esteem is based on a poor self-image, which itself is based on a lack of positive reinforcement, or too much destructive criticism.

The destructive criticism came originally from parents or other family members, and was taken up by the subconscious mind of the child and acted upon. Unless the child changes their own self-perception, then they will be always hindered by nagging self-doubts and low levels of self-confidence.

To erase self-doubts, and improve self-confidence, it is important to work on developing a good self-image.

Developing a Good Self-Image

You can do this most quickly by finding reasons to believe that you deserve a good self-image. You do this by noticing when you have done something well, such as performing at a high level in any activity. Or by noticing when you have done something good, like helping another person who is in distress.

If you acknowledge every time you achieve something and every time you do something good, then you will give your subconscious mind, reasons to believe that you are an able, good person.

You will then feel good about yourself and that is the basis of a healthy personality.

Catch yourself doing it right and give yourself the credit you deserve.

Positive self feedback is a personal development practice. You spot your own good work, tell yourself well done, and do it soon after the event. You name what went right and why it matters. This small habit sends your mind the clear message that you can do good work, which builds steady self belief.
