Day 1 - Morning: Core leadership principles

• Clarify what leadership and management are really for - getting the best results through yourself and others.
• Explore your leadership style and the impression you create with your team.
• Set meaningful goals using an eight-part SMART framework, working with real examples from your role.
• Ask better questions to gather accurate information and reduce ambiguity.
• Communicate with greater clarity using precise definitions, positive language and clear instructions.

Day 1 - Afternoon: Handling conflict and performance

• Tackle conflict in a calm, rational way using fact-based language instead of emotion.
• Give behavioural feedback without attacking the person, protecting confidence and self-esteem.
• Prepare for difficult conversations using structured scripts and optional practice with real scenarios.
• Distinguish genuine reasons from avoidable excuses and respond appropriately.
• Use praise, appreciation and thanks to reinforce the right behaviours and support performance plans.

Day 2 - Morning: Productivity, time management and delegation

• Plan work by value and deadline, separating crisis tasks, productive work, busy work and low-value activity.
• Identify time-wasters caused by yourself, other people and systems, and develop practical ways to reduce them.
• Delegate the right tasks to the right people using a clear SMART briefing method.
• Manage interruptions with simple techniques based on the 80/20 rule and tidy up email and message workflows.

Day 2 - Afternoon: Emotional leadership and continuous improvement

• Manage your own emotional state first (mindfulness in practice), then positively influence others at work.
• Understand how beliefs drive behaviour and results, and how to use this insight to build a high-performance culture.
• Turn ideas into action with clear next steps and simple habits to sustain continuous improvement.
