  6. Setting valuable and worthwhile goals and thinking about them.
  7. Create vibrant health by the proper use of sleep, nutrition and exercise.
  8. Inspire others, by asking them to set goals and build plans for a better future.
  9. Continually editing your conversation, so that you spend most of your time communicating visions of an optimistic future.

1. Continually monitor your mind, since every emotion is a product of your earlier thinking.

Contrary to popular belief, your emotions ARE manageable: but only if you know how to manage them.

Managing emotions depends on you understanding that "You FEEL whatever you THINK about". If you want to control how you feel, you must become conscious and then control what you think about.

2. Positive thinking is about purposefully thinking that the future will be more pleasurable than the past.

The essence of Positive Mental Attitude is the ability to direct your thinking away from some things, and towards other things.

The direction-of-travel for the positive mind is always, towards a better future.

Your goal is to direct your mind and conversation towards visions of a better future. If you think about how the future can be better, then you will experience emotions of hope, confidence, motivation, optimism, energy and happiness.

You must simultaneously stop yourself from thinking in certain directions.

3. Positive thinking is about stopping yourself from thinking how the future may be painful.

There are a billion ways the future may go wrong. If you spend your time imagining the billion ways things can go wrong, then you will feel the corresponding emotions of worry, upset, anxiousness, fear and loss of confidence.

4. Positive thinking is about stopping yourself from thinking how the past was painful.

Keep your mind away from thinking about painful past events. These memories only stir up bad feelings such as resentment anger and bitterness. There is practically no value repeatedly going over painful memories. Keep your mind on future good thinking.

5. Positive thinking is about not reliving the past and focusing on today and better futures.

Positive thinking means being conscious of the content of your mind. Focus it away from the past and onto a better future.

6. Positive thinking is about setting valuable and worthwhile goals and thinking about them.

The easiest way to think about better futures is to get into the habit of setting goals.

Set a raft of long range, optimistic and valuable goals. The main tool of the positive thinker is the willingness to set detailed and specific plans, intended to achieve definite goals for a better future.

7. Positive thinking includes creating vibrant health by the proper use of sleep, nutrition and exercise.

You are a union of two elements; mind and body. One terrific way to have a healthy mind is to train your body into a state of vibrant good health. That means good nutrition, plenty of exercise and a sound night's sleep.

8. Positive thinking includes tying to inspire others, by asking them to set goals for a better future.

A great way to help yourself, is to help others.

Try spending time trying to figure out how to inspire other people, to feel more optimistic about the future. All the time you help others to think about how to make the future better than the past, you are lifting yourself-up too.

You can feel-good and do-good at the same time.

9. Positive thinking is about editing your conversation so that you spend most of your time communicating visions of an optimistic future.

Remember that you will feel whatever you think about. And you will feel whatever you talk about.

Remember that you can always control the content of your spoken and written communication.

Make your spoken and written communication average-out so that the proportions are about the following:

  • Future will be good conversation: = 60% of the whole
  • Future may be bad = 10%
  • Past was bad = 10%
  • Past was good = 20%

If you keep your mind and communications on about these ratios and if you look after your sleep, nutrition and exercise program so you are physically fit, and vibrantly healthy then you will have a Positive Mental Attitude.

It really is that simple.

The six most powerful mind hacks to induce positive emotions.
