Performance management - The Theory:

Performance management includes three aspects:

  • Performance improvement – a belief in the philosophy of “continuous improvement” throughout the organisation.
  • Development – organisational development is based on individual personal development.
  • Managing behaviour – “You are what you habitually do”. So we encourage people to manage their own behaviour to maximise their own performance.

Excellent course that helped to bring new insight and reinforce and bring back concepts from many years ago. The trainer's presentation was upbeat, positive and inspiring.

Performance management - The Practice: A Five-Step Process

1 Introduction

The Training Method

The training method follows this general pattern - the training is very interactive and interesting:

  1. The trainer gives a clear explanation of the point in question with specific examples.
  2. Then, the delegates practice by doing an exercise with each other.
  3. The delegates practice by doing an exercise with the trainer.
  4. All points are supported with full written notes to take away.
  5. Delegates are asked to write down an associated action, for each point made.
    (At the end of the day, we have about twenty such actions, from which the delegates choose six which are the most personally meaningful).

Note: we do not believe in placing people in any situation of embarrassment by demanding that they 'perform' in front of the whole group. So you can relax: come on this course and be at ease; ready to learn new skills!

The training course content was relevant to my needs. Was able to apply the examples to my day job. Will help me be clear and define my approach to my project. The trainer's presentation was very engaging. Kept it interesting the whole day. Motivating.
