What is your Purpose In Life?

What is your purpose in life?

What is your purpose in life?

Everyone needs a purpose.

Without a sense of purpose, people feel unfulfilled.

What is your purpose?

We would like to propose that you adopt the following two purpose statements:

  • To "Add value to others".
  • To "Actualise your full potential".

1. Your purpose is to "add value to others".

You do not live on a desert island; you live in a complex society.

Around you are your family, friends, colleagues, acquaintances, and the wider community.

Other people affect you and you affect other people.

Please note that everything you do or say will either:

  • Add value to others.
  • Fail to add value to others.
  • Detract value from others.

And the only way in which we can live in harmonious society, is if we add value to each other.

Think about how you can add value to every person with whom you come into contact.

  • Can you help that person with their heavy luggage?
  • Can you give this person a cheerful word of encouragement?
  • Can you lift this person's spirits with a few, well-chosen, kind words?
  • Can you help this group to solve the problems they are facing?

If you make "adding value to others", a main purpose in your life, then four good things will happen:

  • You will have a positive impact on the others around you.
  • You will become even more respected and well-liked.
  • Your work life will blossom, since "satisfying customer needs", is the root of commercial success.
  • Your relationships with loved ones will improve, since you will dedicate yourself to making their lives better.

2. Your second purpose statement is to "Actualise your full potential".

When you were born, you were issued with a unique genetic code that makes you, YOU.

Your genetic code endows you with a set of potentialities. Your potentialities are those latent abilities that you may be either fully developed or left to lie fallow.

You have a set of genetically pre-determined potentials for intelligence, strength, speed, height, endurance, flexibility, musicality, mathematics, empathy etc.

Part of your mission, here on planet earth, is to ACTUALISE your full potential.

If you choose to waste your potential, you are wasting your greatest asset.

Your purpose is to discover how good you can get! Good at what?

Helping others.

The combination of the two statements means that your purpose in life is:

To actualise your full potential as a means of adding value to others.

Develop and actualise your genetically determined "gifts" and employ them in the pursuit of helping as many people as possible. And know that by helping others, you are by extension, helping yourself.

By helping as many people as you can, strive to become the best you can be.
