Course Overview

What is Total Wellness Training?

Total wellness means feeling strong in both mind and body. Western medicine is excellent in many ways, but it tends to treat wellness as simply the absence of illness. This course goes further: it shows you how to create a genuinely healthy body and a strong, optimistic mind without relying on alcohol, drugs or chemical medications. Every person who feels less well than they would like can trace that experience back to specific daily habits; this course reveals which habits cause harm and which habits build vitality.

The programme runs along two complementary tracks. The physical wellness track examines the daily habits that cause illness, fatigue and low energy, then replaces them with evidence-based routines that build strength and stamina. The mental wellness track explores the thought patterns and emotional habits that generate distress, anxiety and pessimism, and provides practical replacements that sustain optimism and joy. Unlike mental health awareness and first aid training, which equips staff to recognise and support colleagues in crisis, this course is focused on building your own proactive wellness practices from the inside out.

The two tracks converge in the final session, where delegates learn how to combine physical and mental wellness into a single, integrated daily routine. The result is a state of total wellness: where body and mind reinforce each other to deliver more health, energy, confidence and optimism. This course builds naturally on the emotional management content covered in personal development training, extending that foundation into the physical domain.

Delegates leave with a personal wellness action plan they can begin implementing immediately, along with access to the post-course portal and three months of free telephone coaching for ongoing support.

Core Skills

The Key Skills Covered

This half-day programme is structured around six evidence-based wellness areas. Together they address both the physical and mental dimensions of total wellbeing, giving you a complete and immediately actionable toolkit.

  1. 1

    Understanding Total Wellness

Total wellness is not caused by luck or chance; it is the inevitable result of daily habits. This session establishes a precise definition of what total wellness means, why the body and mind cannot be treated in isolation, and why the Western medical model of 'not being ill' is an insufficient target for people who want to feel genuinely well, energetic and optimistic.

  2. 2

    Identifying Harmful Physical Habits

Many people have daily physical habits that cause fatigue, illness and low energy without realising it. This session identifies the most common physical habits that harm the body, how they accumulate over time and why they are so easy to overlook. Understanding the cause is the essential first step to making a lasting change.

  3. 3

    Building Physical Wellness and Energy

Once harmful physical habits have been identified, they can be replaced. This session covers the evidence-based physical practices that build lasting vitality, improve energy levels and strengthen the body's natural defences. Delegates leave with specific, practical changes they can begin making immediately on returning home or to the office.

  4. 4

    Recognising Harmful Mental Habits

The mind and body are inseparable: a stressed, negative mental state will drain the body's energy, weaken the immune system and erode physical health. This session identifies the common mental habits that create distress, pessimism and anxiety, and explains precisely why they are so harmful to overall wellbeing.

  5. 5

    Developing Mental Wellness and Optimism

Harmful mental habits can be replaced with constructive ones that sustain optimism, confidence and joy. This session covers the specific thought patterns, language habits and daily practices that build a strong, positive mental state. These techniques are grounded in evidence and are distinct from hollow affirmations or wishful thinking.

  6. 6

Integrating Body and Mind for Total Wellness

The final session brings both tracks together. Delegates learn how to combine their physical and mental wellness practices into a single, coherent daily routine. The session closes with each delegate completing a personal total wellness action plan: a written commitment to the specific changes they will make, starting immediately after the course.

AM

Morning Session • Physical wellness, mental wellness and the two-track framework

In this single half-day session, delegates explore both the physical and mental dimensions of total wellness. Working through the two-track framework, you will identify the daily habits that cause harm and develop the practical replacements that build lasting vitality, optimism and joy.

We begin by establishing a precise definition of total wellness. Total wellness means feeling strong in both mind and body; the two are inseparable, and when one suffers the other is always affected. A sick body drains emotional energy; a stressed mind harms the body's health and immune system. We explore why the conventional idea of wellness as simply 'not being ill' is an insufficient target, and what it actually means to feel genuinely well, energetic and optimistic. This foundation shapes everything that follows in the session.
Total wellness has two distinct but interconnected components: physical wellness and mental wellness. Physical wellness concerns the health and vitality of the body; mental wellness concerns the strength, optimism and resilience of the mind. This course runs along both tracks simultaneously, because addressing only one without the other produces incomplete and temporary results. We introduce the two-track framework that delegates will use throughout the day to structure their personal wellness action plan.
Many people have physical habits they do not recognise as harmful. In this session we identify the most common daily physical habits that cause illness, fatigue, low immunity and poor energy. We examine how these habits develop, why they feel normal even when they are damaging, and how they compound over time into significant health deficits. The session is not a lecture; delegates are encouraged to assess their own physical habits honestly against an evidence-based checklist, identifying the areas where change will have the greatest impact.
Once the harmful physical habits have been identified, they can be replaced. This session covers the specific evidence-based physical practices that build lasting vitality and energy. We examine what genuinely works, why it works, and how to integrate it into a normal working life without needing to make dramatic, unsustainable changes. Delegates leave this session with two or three concrete physical changes they can begin making immediately, chosen from a range of practical, evidence-based options that suit their lifestyle and circumstances.
The mind and body are in constant dialogue. A mind dominated by stress, pessimism, worry or self-doubt does not merely feel unpleasant; it actively damages the body's energy, immune function and physical health. In this session we identify the specific mental habits that create emotional distress, including habitual negative thinking, catastrophising, rumination and the patterns of inner dialogue that sustain anxiety. Delegates examine their own mental habits against a structured framework and identify the patterns that are costing them most in terms of energy and wellbeing.
Harmful mental habits can be replaced with constructive ones. This session covers the evidence-based mental practices that build optimism, confidence and genuine joy. These are not affirmations or wishful thinking; they are specific, learnable habits of thought, language and behaviour that measurably improve mental state over time. We cover how to reframe negative events constructively, how to develop a more optimistic explanatory style, and how to use language and conversation to reinforce rather than undermine emotional wellbeing.
The final part of the session brings both tracks together. We explore how physical wellness habits support mental wellness, and vice versa: good sleep improves cognitive performance and emotional resilience; positive mental habits reduce the stress hormones that cause physical illness. Delegates learn how to combine their chosen physical and mental practices into a single, coherent daily routine that is realistic and sustainable. The session closes with each delegate completing a written total wellness action plan, committing to the specific changes they will make starting immediately on returning home or to work.

Yes. We can deliver this course exclusively for your team at your premises or online, on dates to suit you. Bespoke in-house training is priced per day rather than per delegate, making it cost-effective for groups of four or more. We can also tailor the content to address your organisation's specific challenges.
This course addresses both dimensions simultaneously because they are inseparable. A physically depleted body reduces emotional resilience and cognitive performance; a stressed, negative mind raises cortisol levels, weakens the immune system and drains physical energy. By working on both tracks together, delegates achieve a compounding benefit: improvements in physical habits support mental wellness, and improvements in mental habits support physical health. The result is a state of total wellness that is greater than the sum of its parts.
Total wellness is the result of consistent daily habits in both the physical and mental domains. On the physical side, the key habits include adequate sleep, appropriate nutrition, regular movement and the elimination of substances that impair the body's natural recovery. On the mental side, the key habits include managing the quality and direction of your inner dialogue, cultivating an optimistic explanatory style, using language that builds rather than undermines emotional wellbeing, and consciously directing attention toward constructive rather than self-defeating thoughts. This course identifies the specific habits in each category and provides a practical framework for adopting them.
Every delegate leaves this course with a personal total wellness action plan: a written document that identifies the specific physical and mental habits they will change, the replacements they will adopt, and a realistic implementation schedule. The plan is built during the final session of the course and is designed to be immediately actionable. Delegates also receive access to the post-course portal, which contains additional supporting resources, and three months of free telephone coaching so that they can contact us for guidance and support as they implement the plan in real life.
Yes, the training is highly interactive. Sessions include group discussions, exercises, case studies and individual action planning. The trainer actively teaches expert content rather than simply facilitating discussion, so delegates leave with structured knowledge they can apply immediately. The style is engaging and practical throughout.
Delegates come from a wide range of backgrounds and sectors. Common attendees include professionals experiencing persistent fatigue or low energy who want to understand and address the root causes; people under sustained workplace pressure who recognise that their physical and mental health is being affected; HR professionals and wellbeing leads seeking a practical, evidence-based session for their teams; and anyone who simply wants to feel healthier, more energetic and more optimistic in their daily life. The course is suitable for any adult who is ready to examine their daily habits honestly and make meaningful, lasting changes.

"I found the course content incredibly interesting and very informative. Everything seemed very common sense based, but not something you immediately think about until it's in front of you.
