This course is intended for directors, CEOs, board members, doctors, medics and senior-level professionals. This training is for senior executives who would like to further extend their abilities as an inspirational leader-manager. Senior management training is about learning ways to improve your ability to inspire the whole organisation.

The content of this course was exceptionally interesting and easy to understand. I learn a lot about myself and how to improve. I really feel inspired to develop my behaviours after today. Trainer's presentation was very engaging and interesting.

Introductions: Who are you and what do you do?

We are here to answer an important question: How can we get the best performance from ourselves and others?

As leaders, one of our tasks is to get the best performance from the people around us,
Your organisation will produce it best results only if you can get the best performance from the people around you.
In order to get the best from others, you must first get the best from yourself.

The differences between leadership and management?

The concepts of leadership and management are similar but NOT the same.
Some terrific leaders do not have great management skills.
Some efficient managers certainly lack leadership skills.
We will ask you to distinguish between the characteristics of leadership and those of management.

What are the six most important leadership skills?

This course suggests the six most important qualities of leadership are:

  1. Compelling vision
  2. Convincing communication
  3. Correct decisions
  4. Problem solving
  5. Conflict resolution
  6. Positive inspiration

We will discuss what would happen if the leadership lacked any of these qualities.

Nobody is perfect. We all have strong points and a few weak points.

The starting point of all leadership is to have a compelling vision for a better future

Leadership starts with “Clarity of purpose”, or the creation of a “Compelling vision”.
If you are leading people, then you are leading them somewhere. The question is, where?

You are leading them towards your vision of what you think would be “a better situation”.

Your first task as a leader is to clearly define your vision. To make it sound compelling. To make it seem plausible and feel desirable.
We will ask you; What is your vision, how do you define it? How can you make it appear both plausible and desirable?

It is an interesting fact that many of the great leaders were also great orators. (Martin Luther King, Florence Nightingale, Winston Churchill). Leaders use language in ways which are different from the norm. The interesting question is, what are the unique characteristics of the language of leaders?
We will make a thorough investigation and we will learn some secrets.

All leaders are decisive. How to be more decisive

One of the key responsibilities of leadership is to make the final decision.
Dithering is not the mark of great leadership.

Decisions must be made, even in the face of incomplete and uncertain knowledge.

We show you that there are seven types of decision.

  1. Yes or no? A binary decision.
  2. Yes, or NOT yes. A non-binary decision.
  3. If yes, which one /what kind?
  4. What is the top priority?
  5. What is the proper sequence?
  6. Problem cause solution. (Understanding the Past)
  7. Problem implications countermeasure? (Predicting the Future)

All leaders are problem solvers. How to systematically solve problems.

Leaders must solve problems faster than they come up. In order to solve problems quickly we need an effective way to search the web of causes that underpin the problem.
We will show you that there always at least four causes to any problem:

  1. The material causes.
  2. The structural causes.
  3. The trigger event.
  4. The human factors.

We will demonstrate how to use these four factors to find causes.

The folly of the single-cause fallacy

There is a tendency for people to oversimply situations, and to try to find THE cause for a problem.
That often morphs into the search for who to blame.
But the truth is; all problems have multiple causes.
We will discuss how important it is to eliminate the blame culture.

How you can more quickly find the solutions to complex problems

In order to investigate the cause of your problem and to find solutions, you need a system.
We will show you a neat system to help organise your investigation into the multiple causes of a problem.
We will give you our unique 1 problem 4 causes 8 solutions mapping method.

Conflict management:

Internal conflicts must be resolved quickly: Here is how.

Abraham Lincoln said, “A house divided, cannot stand”.

Conflict is inevitable in teams, and they can be beneficial, but only if everyone is behaving rationally. Once the conflict becomes an irrational, emotionalised affair, then it soon turns toxic and civil war breaks out.

We will practice how to resolve conflicts quickly and how to re-establish good relationship.

Resolve conflicts by applying the principles of reason, not high emotion

Don’t emotionalise conflicts, instead rationalise them.
There are always two elements to a conflict; the rational (intellectual) part; and the irrational (emotional) part.
The key to conflict management is to maximise the intellectual component and to de-emphasis the emotional component.
We will learn you how to use objective, rational language and to avoid emotionalised inflammatory language.

How to negotiate a corrective action and secure a commitment

We need a system that will take the conflicting parties from a state of war to agreeing a practical and durable solution.
We will learn and practice a powerful six-step method for resolving conflicts quickly.

All leaders inspire strong emotions in their followers

What is the difference between motivation and inspiration?
We all know that leaders should both motivate and inspire. But the question arises,
Is motivation the same thing as inspiration? The answer is NO.

We will discuss how some motivators can be negative, (fear and anger) but all inspiration is positive.
Why, long term, it is better to motivate using the positive emotions.
We will examine how positive emotions are better than motivation by fear.

Motivation by fear works; but causes more problems than it is worth.
You can motivate by fear, but it does not last
We will examine the long-term painful consequences of trying to motivate by using negative motivations of fear or anger.
Long range, it is better, to inspire and motivate by appealing to the positive emotions.

We will examine the long-term pleasurable consequences of inspiring people with positive emotions, such as desire, optimism, belief, trust and encouragement.

How to inspire positive emotions in yourself and others.

Everything you say has an effect on the emotions of both yourself and others. It is possible to accidently discourage people and make them lose heart, not because you are cruel, but simply because you don’t yet know about the wonderful art of conversation management.

We will practice the lost art of Conversation management.

Conversation management is the art of choosing your words carefully, so that you purposefully use them to inspire a positive emotional response in the minds of yourself and others.
