Emotional Management

We all need to manage how we feel.

We want to feel stronger and more confident.
So, we need to learn the art of emotional management.

Emotional Management is the art of controlling the focus of your mind and the physical state of your body, so as to create optimum emotional responses appropriate to the circumstances that face you.

Do you want to know how to manage your emotions?
If, yes, read on......

First Point to note:

Consider this suggestion and ponder the implications.

"You do what you do,
And you feel the way you feel,
primarily because of the habitual thoughts
that you allow to dominate your mind."

You do what you do, and you feel what you feel, primarily because of the thoughts that you allow to dominate in your mind.

Second Point to note:

Your body responds automatically, instantly and unerringly to the thoughts that occupy your mind.

  1. If you have bad thoughts you feel bad.
  2. If you have good thoughts you feel good.
  3. If you have mixed thoughts you will have mixed feelings.

Third Point to note:

A positive mental attitude relies on your ability to control and direct your thoughts:

  1. Consistently.
  2. For extended periods.
  3. Irrespective of what others are doing.
  4. Irrespective of what others are saying to you.

Fourth Point to note:

The only thing over which you have complete and unchallengeable control is:
Your own mind.

This does not mean that people DO control their own minds.
On the contrary, most do not.
Most people allow themselves to be unduly influenced by the negative suggestions of

  • Their (well meaning) relatives
  • The media
  • Friends
  • The general atmosphere

Fifth Point to note:

In order to take control of how you feel and create a positive state:
Take control of your mind and direct ALL of your mental powers towards ONLY fruitful issues.

The next question is:
"How specifically could I do that?"

Consider this:
At any one time you must be thinking about something.

There are five classes of things to think about:

  1. Good things
  2. Bad things
  3. Things in the past
  4. Things in the future
  5. Things in the present

Sixth Point to note:

Control the focus of your mind

You may be thinking about something in the present moment the "now".
Or you may be thinking about:

  1. The bad things that have happened in the past.
  2. The good things that have happened to you in the past
  3. That bad things that may happen to you in the future
  4. The good things that may happen to you in the future

Which pattern of thought habitually dominates your mind and conversation?
What feelings result from each kind of "thought vibration"?

Direct and control the focus of your mind

To the degree to which you allow your mind and conversation to dwell upon the "bad past" you will feel

  • Anger
  • Bitterness
  • Resentment.
  • Revenge
  • Loss of confidence
  • Defeat
  • Loss

To the degree to which you allow your mind and conversation to be dominated by upon the "good past" you may feel:

  • A longing for "The good old days"
  • Nostalgic
  • Faint sense of loss
  • Slight sadness for things past.

To the degree to which you allow your mind and conversation to are filled with "bad future" you will feel:

  • Anxiousness
  • Worry
  • Fear
  • Stress
  • Loss of confidence

Seventh Point to note:

To the degree to which you allow your mind and conversation to be filled with "the good future" you will inspire:

  • Enthusiasm,
  • Motivation
  • Confidence
  • Motivation
  • Ambition
  • Energy

Emotional Management summary

  1. You feel the way you feel, primarily because of the habitual thoughts that you allow to dominate your mind.
  2. Your body responds automatically, instantly and unerringly to the thoughts that occupy your mind.
  3. A positive mental attitude relies on your ability to control and direct your thoughts.
  4. The only thing over which you have complete and unchallengeable control is: Your own thoughts.
  5. Take control of your mind and direct ALL of your mental powers towards ONLY fruitful issues.
